Assisted living costs can be a considerable burden on people as they grow older. In fact, frequently the pension or social security will not cover the assisted living cost that many elderly individuals have to purchase as they have to be cared for during their last years of life. Right now, according to PBS, there are approximately 17,000 nursing homes in America and a large number of them are not doing well financially, in spite of their high fees.
Over 90 percent of the residents who of nursing homes are over the age of 65. Of course, one thing that a lot of people do not understand is that when it coems to assisted living services, many of the people who live in assisted living homes are not in constant need of care. Many of them live in senior living communities where they can exercise a relatively high level of independence.
Also, around 26 percent of nursing home in the United States are non profit. Some are affiliated with religious organizations, as if often the case with Jewish or Catholic nursing homes. And, of ocurse, there is no denying that when it comes to assisted living care and assisted living communities, there are many benefits that can accompany that kind of life. Doctors and nurses care of patients around the clock.
But people in the nursing homes do not need to be concerned about their health to such a degree that this care can be debilitating. Sometimes, these centers will even give classes on how to stay active and healthy. This can be a good option for just about anyone who wants to make sure that he or she is capable of ensuring good health and a high level of physical activities. Just because you are moving into a home again does not mean that you have to be inactive. References: www.youtube.com
